Lili & Ida was a design-led collection that combined craft and digital technologies using precious and non-precious materials (gold, acrylic, walnut, crochet and silk jersey).
The collection evolved from rediscovering the work of my great-grandmother, the children’s illustrator Ida Rentoul-Outhwaite. Collection pieces referenced the delicacy and craft of her hand drawings in a contemporary light. These were complimented with a second line joining textiles with functional, ‘hard’ motifs such as hinges, motorcycles and text.
Lili & Ida showcased at Somerset House in March 2013, and went on to win the Greenwich ‘Gem of a Pop up Shop’ Award in July 2013.
